Hawaiian!

Today we went to a party that was put on by a local Hawaiian restaurant owner to celebrate the 4th anniversary of his restaurant. I've eaten at his place a few times and he's a really nice local boy from Hawaii and his food is authentic. A lot of folks from Hawaii that live in Japan seek out his restaurant for a taste of home. One of his more famous customers is retired sumo wrestler Konishiki. He also attended the party, so we had to get our picture taken with him. We enjoyed a day of 'ono' (delicious) Hawaiian food and entertainment by Hawaiian artists such as Hapa and Konishiki's very own Koni's Boys. Hiromi mentioned that Jr. seems to like Hawaiian music and was dancing a little hula inside the stomach. There was a raffle with lots of great prizes (1st prize was a trip for two to Hawaii!). While we didn't win the trip to Hawaii, we managed to win a 5 pack of Hawaiian CD's and a Wyland poster! Must be the luck of the unborn....
