Frustration!
Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days - The process of applying for Hiromi's visa is incredibly frustrating and lengthy. After submitting all of the documents to 'petition' her to get a visa, we finally received a letter that she has been accepted and we can now apply for the visa. WHAT?!?!?! What did we just submit a stack of documents and $190 for? Now we have to submit a whole new stack of documents for the actual application including duplicates that have already been submitted. I was very upset about this because we are running out of time and we both have to be physically present in Tokyo at the interview. So we will spend the next week running around to various places to collect the necessary documents in time. While I got incredibly frustrated by this, Hiromi reminded me of why we compliment each other. She said, 'it sounds like fun, I get to go to the largest police station in Japan and get finger prints'! When you look at it that way, it's not too bad. Perhaps I'll bring the digital camera and make it a tourist event.
